Perhaps when tragedy strikes, beauty can be brought to the surface. At least that is what this couple’s love story entails, and could explain their thirst for tough adventures that bring about beauty.
Toni and David met in 2018 when quite frankly, their worlds seemed to be crumbling at the seams. Toni’s father was fighting a battle with cancer and David was in the midst of divorce. Through a mutual friend they connected and per every good love story, they never intended on it being serious. But one thing was clear, Toni was seriously into David. And David was seriously into Toni. The sparks instantly flew after their first date. Just a sheer 6 months into their relationship, Toni’s father lost his battle to cancer. Though her heart broke, it was as if David had been the glue placed into her life to hold her heart together from completely shattering.
The start to Toni and David’s life together reflects well the hobbies they enjoy. They are no strangers to a good challenge including skiing, hiking, and even surfing. The most challenging hike to date that they have done is Franconia Ridge Loop in the White Mountains. This loop is 8.6 miles and considered challenging. The loop is known to take at least 7 to 10 hours. And much like the way their relationship evolved, this incredibly hard hike had a beautiful destination. The breathtaking views make it clear why someone would put the work in to see them. Having hiked it twice with plans to do it again, they seem unphased by the difficulty it brings. Furthermore, they plan on hiking Mount Washington this year with an elevation of 6,288 ft. The loop is 7.4 miles and again, at least 6 hours can be an average hiking time.
Though Toni and David spend an abundance of time in their home state of New Hampshire, they also are avid travelers. Sharing their hobby of camping, they have enjoyed states like Nevada, Utah, and Arizona while on their honeymoon (but of course ended it with a trip to sunny Aruba!). They currently have plans of continuing their travels this year to Miami, Philadelphia, New York City, Nevada, Maine, Vegas, and Montana. Because Toni and David do eventually see kids in their future, they make an effort to travel as much as possible now. However, Toni and David have full intentions on still living an adventurous lifestyle when they decide to grow their family.
If anyone’s love story could give encouragement it should be theirs. Toni and David truly leaned on each other during some of the most difficult, unexpected times in their lives. Their persistence in challenging moments is what makes them good hikers, but even better companions. No matter where life takes them, they know they have each other.
